Jagjitji as Mirza Ghalib's voice....:
Har ek baat pe kahte ho tum... ke tu kya hai....
Tum hi kaho ke ye.... andaz-a-guftagu kya hai..
Arz kiya hai... :
Rago me daudte firne ke hum nahi kayal...
Jab aankh hi se na... tapka to fir lahoo kya hai...
Chipak raha hai...badan par lahoo se pairahan..
Humari jeb ko...ab hajat-a-rafu kya hai...
Chitraji starts...
Jala hai jism jahan dil bhi jal gaya hoga....
Kuredte ho...jo ab raakh...justaju kya hai...
This is the 'Ibteda' of the album Mirza Ghalib...which starts with a prologue from Gulzar sahab. One of my most favourite albums of Jagjitji!
Ghalib has always intrigued me...and because he is probably the most known Shayar (Urdu Poet) in India & Pakistan...I have always wondered what's the specialty of his poetry. But yeah...I know that it's impossible for me to comment about his poetry..as I am such a novice in this field...and moreover I am so poor in Urdu that I have a tough time trying to understand his shers!
But one thing which I noticed was....his placing of words in a couplet or a sher...which is quite typical....I think I will not be able to explain that....but it creates a certain effect...I don't know...if everyone feels that effect the way I feel...but that's the difference I see in his shayari!
I would really like to improve my Urdu..so that I can appreciate the works of these great poets and also Jagjit singh sahab!
